Black Friday 2012 is Nov. 23, but Walmart is bucking the trend and starting the holiday shopping season a bit early. Forget waiting in line for a 5 a.m. opening; this year’s Black Friday sale isn’t even starting on Friday. Walmart is kicking off a series of sales events at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving night.

Walmart just released its Black Friday 2012 sales flyer and the first sales event, dubbed Event 1, begins at 8 p.m. on Thursday (Black Thursday?). This shopping event focuses on deals in several categories including toys, games, home and apparel. Items included in the Walmart Black Friday 2012 sales flyer include:

  • Xbox 360 4GB + SkyLanders Bundle – $149
  • Wii Console– $89
  • Leappad 1.0 Learning Tablet ($65) and Furby ($45)
  • Razor Accelerator 12-Volt Electric Scooter – $79
  • Fisher Price Power Wheels Jeep Wrangler 6-Volt Ride Ons (Hot Wheels and Barbie) – $89 each

Event 2, The BIG Event, is Walmart’s ever-popular brand-name electronics sale. This year Walmart is offering a one-hour guarantee, any shopper who is inside the store and in the electronics queue between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. will be eligible to purchase the following three items at the Black Friday sales price:

  • Apple iPad 2 16GB with Wi-Fi – $399 plus get a $75 Walmart Gift Card
  • Emerson 32” 720p LCD TV – $148
  • LG Blu-ray Player – $38

According to Walmart, “If any of these items happen to sell out before 11 p.m. local time, Walmart will offer a Guarantee Card for the item which must be paid for by midnight and registered online. The product will then be shipped to the store where it was purchased for the customer to pick up before Christmas.” This should hopefully eliminate the fisticuffs that seem to happen every year at the Walmart Black Friday electronics sale.

The final event, Event 3, kicks off at a more reasonable time: 5 a.m. on Friday — yes the real Black Friday. Items on sale during Event 3 include:

  • Sharp 70” 1080p 120Hz HDTV – $1,798
  • Acer 13.3” Ultrabook with 4GB and 320GB solid state drive – $499
  • Goodyear Tires ranging from $59–$99 each
  • Better Homes and Gardens Deluxe Recliner – $199

You can browse through the entire Walmart Black Friday 2012 sales flyer online. Will you be lining up for Walmart’s holiday sales or will you join me in celebrating a budget-friendly Buy Nothing Day?
