President Obama took a few minutes to commend the domestic automotive industry during this week’s presidential address. General Motors is the top automaker in the world and all of the Detroit three are bringing manufacturing jobs back to our country. These employees will be building the new more fuel efficient cars of the future but President Obama knows that is not enough. The nation needs to continue to work to reduce our dependence on not just foreign oil but on oil in general. A good place to start, according to the president, is the multi-billion oil industry subsidy bill that taxpayers foot every year.
