Ed Begley Jr. and his wife, Rachelle Carson, will help Natural Health magazine honor the 10 winners of the 2008 Natural Health Green Choice Awards.  The magazine named the 25 finalists today, but the companies will have to until May 5 to see if they've won.

"The 25 award finalists are conserving energy, saving water, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, shrinking carbon footprints, and reducing waste at unprecedented levels. They are also contributing to huge gains in alternative energy and encouraging their more than three million employees to embrace sustainability." Source: PR Newswire
Data about the 25 companies, each with a global presence, was collected including the each company's LEED certifications, recycling projects and sustainability plans.

The 25 companies that are vying for one of the 10 awards are Aveda, British Airways, Canon, Chipotle, Clif Bar, Coca Cola, Discovery, Flor, Ford, Gap, Green Mountain Energy, Hain Celestial Group, Ikea, Kohl's, Kraft, L'Oreal, Niman Ranch, Organic Valley, P&G, Shaklee, Starbucks, UPS, Verizon, Wal-Mart and Whole Foods.

Wal-Mart has certainly been making the rounds in eco-friendly news stories lately.  In the last week alone I have written about the company's Sustainable Buildings network and the nearly $6 million in grants to fund green jobs.
