Aspen Mountain

Aspen Mountain is located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and is one of the pioneers in greener ski mountains. In 2006 it became the first mountain to offset its entire energy load using wind energy credits, and was the first to achieve ISO 14001 certification, a designation reserved for companies that follow strict environmental management guidelines. It used biofuels in its snowcats until federal diesel standards were updated to make it cleaner. Aspen truly understands the dangers that climate change poses to ski resorts that depend on reliably cold winters.
