A phone that never needs charging

Even the least green of consumers would have to agree that a cell phone that never needs to be plugged in is a dream come true. No more lost or forgotten chargers. No more dead phones in the middle of a trip.

It appears Samsung has created just such a phone. The ingloriously named E11077 is the latest in a line of innovative green cell phone products from Samsung. And this one is solar-powered.

The back of the phone is made from a single PV solar cell, and the manufacturer claims that just 15 minutes in the sun while revive a dead battery.

While the phone is not made from recycled or biodegradable plastic like its cousin, the Reclaim, it does boast some other green features including an auto-dimming screen, LED flashlight and built-in FM radio (now you don't need to buy one of those Red Cross hand-cranked emergency radios).

It's cheap too ... about $60 but is currently only available in Europe and Asia.

Very Un-American Phone

The normal, the screwings, hidden ones and the obvious ones are gone! China's "Capitalism" has a humane face with this one! Imagine: Asian villagers able to recharge precious phones in the sun, while Yankee doodle dandy pays through the nose and other painful orifices for his re-charges on disposable phones! Next they will make the rechargeable batteries easy to replace when they wear out! Uncapitalistic by American definitions, and not a stock I want to buy, but by Asian corporations track.... More

ingloriously...ok quentin

I just can't get past this one word. Seriously, its sad that one movie comes out and journalist and various writers think its ok to start throwing words around that they don't understand.
I can see that you might have used the word to catch an eye or two from readers just because of the movie. The odds of people knowing what it means is about 30-70. 30% will know what it means and think well yeah it is a bit lame that they couldn't come up with a cool name for it. The rest of the.... More

I actually thought the writer was being clever....

On the other hand, I'm not a hotshot intellectual like you.
