Carbon upsets

With so much activism and celebrating going down on Earth Day, a sense of humor is often overlooked. The Onion is here to help.

Mon, Apr 20 2009 at 6:59 PM EST

In case you missed the memo, Earth Day is tomorrow. While many of us try to make an eco-difference in our every day lives, Earth Day is an opportunity for folks who may not be environmentally aware on a daily basis (hellllooo The Price is Right) to put on their good idea green jeans for a change. And while many observe Earth Day with a hearty dose of gravity, it doesn't hurt to have a sense of humor about the whole affair.

No matter what you're up to tomorrow — participating in an organized litter clean-up, settling down with a good eco-book, Tweeting about environmental issues that matter to you, or raising a glass of organic vino to Mother Nature — a good chuckle is in order. This is where this infographic from The Onion that explains how "Carbon Footprint Reduction Services" work comes in handy. There is indeed plenty to be concerned about, but remember, Mother Nature does like to see you flash that smile every so often.
