Benjamin Moore paints the town green

Natura, Benjamin Moore's eco paint line, hits Pottery Barn Kids with a fabulous collection of colors that won't induce headaches and other VOC-related maladies.

Have a room in your home that just begs to be painted “Sweet Taffy” or “Harbor Fog?” Several creatively named shades — a quick aside, I would love to go into the paint naming business; some ideas: “Super Canary,” “Scaffold,” “Virgin’s Blush” — of Benjamin Moore’s zero-VOC, waterborne paint formula, Natura, can now be found online at Pottery Barn Kids.
Last year, Benjamin Moore launched Natura as a quick-drying, near-odorless alternative to dizzying conventional paints that contain indoor air quality-compromising VOCs (volatile organic compounds). All Natura paints feature Benjamin Moore’s Green Promise designation and have exceeded the environmental safety criteria of both LEED and Green Seal GS-11 standards. What’s this mean? Essentially, it means that Natura is safe for you, your home, and the earth; it’s the greenest paint out there.

Although Natura paints are available in all Benjamin Moore colors, the PB Kids selection features 15 warm, kids-room-appropriate shades like “Calming Aloe,” “Lily Lavender” and the aforementioned “Sweet Taffy” and “Harbor Fog.” The PB Kids colors were chosen specifically to coordinate with the store’s seasonal collections.

In addition to Natura’s presence at PB Kids, there’s also a contest in the works: The Natura Your World Sweepstakes, where the winner wins a room makeover complete with a color consultation and cash prize. Check it out and enter by November 16th.

I was fortunate to get my hands on samples of a few Natura/Pottery Barn Kids paints and since I don’t have any painting projects in the works, I passed them along to my paint-crazy friend Amy who has long been planning to give her home office “racing stripes.” When she completes the project I’ll post a couple photos and get her reactions to Natura.
