Off the grid is not for everyone. It is hard work and brings on a whole new set of problems. We have been far off grid for 8 years now and have faced the challenge and it IS a great challenge. It takes commitment and a lot of time but can be fulfilling if your heart is in it. It's more than a romantic notion, it is a lifestyle. Keep in mind that truly off grid means you can't run to the store to get milk..there is no store. Ther eis no bakery or bookstore and only if you have the money to build a tower to access a wifi, there is no TV, radio, cell, internet, mail. It's not a vacation, people, but we have a good clean healthy life..
