sure, if you had full legs on the blades I'd fully support the theory that they give him an advantage. But think about it...he only has upper legs, no calves, ankles, feet to use to propel himself. There is no way he has any advantages over the other runners. Stick some blades on your knees and try to outsprint someone...i doubt it would be an easy feat.

redirecting these funds might sound like a horrible thing, and this is definitely a cause i support, but when you look at the bigger picture and the state of federal/state funds right now it does make some sense. I live in rural Pennsylvania where the state is responsible for maintaining MANY miles of roadways, and it is no secret that they are quickly falling behind. many bridges and roadways lie in serious disrepair simply because the funds are not there to address them right now. unfortunately, community development projects like these are some of the first to go. when the economy improves and the states have more money to spare, projects like this can be reinstated, but for now, unfortunately, the funds are needed elsewhere
