I am happy to hear that these

I am happy to hear that these two sweethearts found great homes and I am happy for their families. I have two rescues now, both 11 years old, who rescued me too. One is an incredibly sweet Boxer, named Bruno, who was 9 months old when we found each other, had been in TWO bad homes, was very thin, afraid of his plastic food bowl, and didn't know what to do with a rawhide when we brought him home. After a week of intense TLC he was a happy pup. Just before Bruno joined the pack, we had an older Boxer named Emma at home, a foster named Chiquita, and we had rescued a mixed breed puppy whom our sons named Gizzie. Four dogs made for some riotous times but eventually Chiquita went to her forever home and Emma, sadly passed on after a while. Bruno now has diabetes and very sadly went blind overnight about a month and a half ago; he is partially deaf too. His lifelong buddy, Gizzie doesn't get or understand what's going on with his friend or why he isn't playing with him anymore. Bruno is having a very hard time adapting. I've had Boxers my whole life - I tell people that I was raised by Boxers. I have done Boxer rescue, fostered, bred, and adore this breed, my heart goes out to my poor boy and all dogs that have a hard time. Please print more happy stories. If you have advice on how to help blind dogs send it on - we are doing our best for our dear, sweet Bruno but I always feel that there is more that we can do. He is a great dog! Thanks - I love your dog stories!
