Ice Cubes on Ear Lobes

Heather another old Southern solution. My grandmother used to have us hold ice cubes on our earlobes. A quick fix can be done anywhere you have ice.
You are correct on the wet sheets

Matt, these are all great ideas and I too have been running around in my skivvies for a couple of weeks now. It's not as hot here in the ATL as it is in NYC but hot enough.
Wet sheets are a great solution. I was in the Peace Corps in the Sahara Desert and there were many a night I slept in wet "pagnes" to keep cool. The only caution I would give is don't leave wet sheets on too long because it can cause mold and mildew. An alternative might be to get a wrap essentially a large piece of cotton fabric, organic if you can, wet that and wear it to bed. Less stress on the mattress and it can be hung during the day to keep it fresh.
