Agree with Enter Your Name... Timothy Treadwell died doing what he loved, and he truly loved "his" bears & foxes, and all of nature. He named every bear and every fox...he knew them by sight and knew their personalities. I watched the series on Animal Planet and looked forward to every episode. Once he said that he realized he might be killed by a bear... he knew the danger. He may have been eccentric, but he was not crazy or careless or unaware. And, as Larkin says, he did have a life away from Katmai, although his heart was in Katmai. As far as bears being dangerous, yes. Will they kill you given the opportunity? yes, maybe... but certainly not always. Treadwell lived with them for many seasons before one killed him. Far as I know, man is the only animal who kills for sport.
