The Dead Sea is surrounded by Israel, Jordan, and Palestine. (the West Bank) How much longer Palestine as a separate nation continues to exist depends on the rate of aggressive settlement by the Israelis.
Lake Nicaragua is connected

Lake Nicaragua is connected to the Caribbean (the Atlantic) by the San Juan River. Bull sharks swim up and down this river to the lake. Bull sharks commonly swim up rivers including the Mississippi. They are probably responsible for more human fatalities than any other shark species.
