You couldn't be farther from the truth.  Harvesting an animal by surprise in it's native enviroment is infinitely more humane than raising a domestic animal that trusts humans, having it wait in line to be slaughtered (releasing stress hormones to the meat), and then have a hydraulic punch pin driven through it's skull.  If you don't have the stomach for killing your own food Bison is a great alternative and available in many grocery stores.  The rising popularity of Bison as a food source has resulted in a burgeoning population increase.  Along the same line, there's never been a game species which has gone extinct in modern times.  The associated license fees and taxes are used to acquire and sustain habitat for not only game species but other un-related creatures and fauna.  Just stay off your high horse and quit acting like you've reached a higher plain of consciouness than people who don't share your philosophy which as actually short-sighted.
