The common misconception is that when the (local)weather is cool where you are, how could we have global climate warming? Even though it has been cool in places like CA, the overall global temp is a record high. Wild fluctuations in global weather, including record heat, floods, cold, hellish storms, tornadoes in the north, etc are part of the chaotic climate change, that computer models have predicted. NOAA and NASA are reporting record-breaking data, not fabricating it.
