The ever-growing mass of 7 billion people all grow up wanting to drive a car or truck, but the Earth is not growing to provide endless tons of oil to be refined into gasoline, so that creates a scarcity which is why prices rise for any commodity...
I agree. It's extremely ironic that astronomers discover another possibly living planet (600 light years away and out of reach) at exactly the time when we humans are on the brink of polluting our own planet to ecocide and extinction.
