I've always been a huge advocate of light therapy. Initially because of its beneficial effects on SAD. I live in the grey and miserable UK, where it rains A LOT (it's why we're weather obsessed!), so in the winter I get desperate for sunlight. I've used a light box for several years now, and it really is brilliant the difference it makes. But as a side effect, I've also found that it helps my psoriasis, which I've had since I was a teenager. I also use creams and gels from these guys - http://www.katharinebotanicals.com but the light really does make a difference.
