Seriously? Based on your comment I can confidently say that you have never shared a special bond with a dog. How sad for you and for your pets. Only those ignorant of the sort of close emotional bond that forms out of a mutual respect between human and canine would ever say that a pet could be replaced as though they were property comparable to a chair.
