R.E. The last paragraph, I'd like to point out that drinking in public in Scotland is illegal due to the chattering classes that would be most likely to be out watching the spectacle. As far as I know, the right to drink alcohol responsibly in public is on the attack in England as well. So a hot toddy in Scotland will find you foul of the law. This is designed to criminalise the lower classes in Scotland. I wonder if the law will be equally pursued this time since most of the transgressors will be the chattering classes that brought this draconian law onto the books.
