I studied about the depletion of the ozone layer way back in highschool (more than 10 years ago) which is why I'm a bit surprised that it continues to thin. I would have thought we'd find ways to prevent this from happening. http://tinyurl.com/3symnwl

Long-term solutions

While I still do believe in Earth Hour, I do agree that what should be stressed more is long-term solutions to our energy and environmental problems. Maybe something better would be to set aside a day in every month to commit to something green. It can be something as small like switching all lights to CFLs or using usable shopping bags. If people find 1 change per month too much, it could be 1 change per quarter or something. But you get the idea.
