Two types of Green

Fri, Aug 28 2009 at 7:26 AM EST

On the one side I see mega corporations looking to penetrate the LOHAS marketplace for a profit-- not necessarily to enable change, and on the other side I see companies and product and services providers who have been consistently working to be more green and to incorporate green into their business practices.

Greener than thou: Can I be more green than you?

What does it mean to be more green?

For my family and our lifestyle, I am trying to be more and more green by doing basic things like reducing waste, composting, and being energy efficient. For our business, we achieved green certification and are going paperless (EarthClassMail and RingCentral).

Personally we are also doing things like raising our own chickens, growing our own produce and switching from disposable consumer products (feminine hygiene, shoes, diapers, plates, spoons, forks) and converting to natural or biodegradable materials.
