I'll tell you what's a turkey, Jim ... those same old gas mileage tips that are repeated over and over, verbatim. Granted, it's Thanksgiving, not the Fourth of July, but the "roll the windows up on the highway" rule is not set in stone. It depends on the vehicle. Some vehicles can be more efficient with the windows down and the A/C off. It depends on the specific vehicle. Driving 55 on an Interstate highway in this day and age can cause a significant hazard. It's best to keep with the flow of traffic and learn how to maximize inertia while maintaining a healthy following distance. The fuel economy of any given vehicle will vary, depending on gearing and road conditions.
