I do Avian Rescue on the side and graphic design for a living. *Parrots in apartments are a BAD IDEA.* They're long-lived, needy, and loud in most instances. Cockatoos and macaws can be destructive, chewing on walls and whatever they can get their beaks on. It's natural for them to do this to maintain their beaks. The noise leads to neighbor complaints and people giving them up. Budgies, finches, and cockatiels (tiels are usually not as loud, but can be) are decent apartment pets. I recommend Petfinder to find your new pet. They have a variety of critters that are in need of homes. Oh! And always research your prospective pet before bringing it home. <3
