Its shameful that she had to

Its shameful that she had to go through this. The time has come when we shed this dreadful notion of denying privacy to kids and start watching what they do on the web. Block sites, track their activities. There are apps like Qustodio that even allow you to view the profile pictures of accounts your child is eangaging with. Use them to safeguard your child's interests. That's the least we can do for them.
I've always believed that

I've always believed that parents do need to make sure that their kids do not venture into areas online where they shouldn't. You can't expect any kids of self-regulation at the age where everything to them is fair game. I have a parental control app called Qustodio installed on both the home PCs to ensure that I know what they are doing as well as prohibiting them from opening any nasty sites.
I am surprised Qustodio isn't

I am surprised Qustodio isn't on that list. Its free, lightweight, easy to configure and manage, and has such content blocking and reporting features that will put any paid parental control app to shame.
