I am an avid birder and have been since the early 1970's. Today, I write a weekly article in our town's newspaper, The Wilson Post, called, Our Feathered Friends. So far I have written 215 weekly articles and have met several hundreds of my readers. One of my readers presented me with the book, Flyaway. I have found myself, in my own mind, right along with Suzie as she experiences the many ups and downs in her life. I feel like I've known her and her family for quite some time, but its only through her book that gave me that insight. Last year, I contacted a disease called Psittacosis that left me in a coma for fourteen days and on life support. This was caused by inhaling starling droppings at our library here in Lebanon, Tennessee. This has not put a damper on my love for birds even with all the problems caused by the disease. I am in hopes that Suzie might write a follow-up book from where this one has left off. Tell George, that I would love to meet him.
