A few years ago I learned

A few years ago I learned about a chemical process known as thermal depolymerization in which garbage is ground up and pressure cooked to produce crude oil. A popular source for this garbage seems to be used tires.
Also around that time, I was writing articles for TheSpoof.com, kind of like the U.K.'s version of The Onion. So I wrote about an interview with a Saudi Oil Baron explaining how back in the 1970s, they started building underground oil factories while letting the rest of the world think they're drilling for it.
Wouldn't it be something if some McScrooges have been doing the gold thing in such great quantity that it IS profitable?
