There are a fair amount of offices that would allow treadmill desks, though I know it isn't common. It depends on the industry- most banks certainly won't have that (though the brokerage firms do have on-site gyms). Jumping in place, gyrating your hips, etc, can be done in any bathroom, empty hallway, or fire escape/stair well. Not everyone has a tread mill at work, but out of the 75 or so people on my facebook and LinkedIN, I'd say maybe 60 of us have treadmills at work. Working in the tech industry, IT, gaming industry, or downtown anywhere often provides access to medicine balls, tread mills, and private space for jumping jacks. The options ARE out there!
