I agree - I think showing respect to anyone who is helping/assisting/serving you is important - those jobs are tough and too-often thankless, plus they don't pay well! The way I see people treat cashiers and waitstaff is so offensive it makes me want to apologize FOR the rude people sometimes!

Starre has fun appearing on TV and radio as a green living expert and also consults on green and lifestyle topics for Fortune 500 companies. Starre lives on the Connecticut shore in a 100-year old Victorian house (that she is slowly greening) with a rescued cocker spaniel and two fluffy cats. When not on the road visiting her family in Australia or checking out swimming holes the world over, she gardens, makes videos, hikes, mountain bikes and snowboards.
