Well actually, yes it was a step forward for women. I am obviously older than you are. I was the first paper carrier in Milwaukee. These jobs were not available to females prior. There were restaurants that would only hire men. A job is a job. Women have a long way to go to get things to be equal. McDonald's taught hard work ethics. We also put pressure on McDonald's to switch from styrofoam containers that do not breakdown to using paper. Cooking is not an evil. I've learned something from every job I have had. What was your first job Ami? What did you learn from it?

Working at McDonalds allowed me to continue to pay for my horse. McDonalds taught team work and to always keep busy. What I also learned through the suggestive sell was sales techniques which I used later in life to win a trip to Hawaii. They also were able to evolve. I convinced the store manager Mr. Barbian to let me work grill. I was the first girl on grill in our store and that opened the way for other women.
