On Monday, I dedicated a post to a slew of nifty solar-powered home accessories in celebration of Solar Energy Month/Energy Awareness Month. Turns out, it’s also — not too surprisingly — Vampire Power Awareness Month.
Sponsored by universal charger company, iGo, Vampire Power Awareness Month’s blood- and info-drenched homepage does a, umm, killer job of tying into this month’s spooky main event, Halloween, while educating folks about ways they can take a bite out of vampire power to save money and energy. Featured is a list of helpful tips for “slaying” vampire power around the house and a cool interactive feature that helps you calculate energy drainers room by room. There’s also the Augmented Reality contest that gives aspiring scream queens the chance to digitally bleed on camera.
After you’ve finished perusing the Vampire Power Awareness site and unplugging your coffee maker and never-used VCR, check out these MNN blog posts and features dedicated to vampire power.
