I rarely host contests and giveaways on this here blog (although there’s frequently awesome contests happening elsewhere around MNN) but I’m willing to break the no-contest dry spell for a very special lady. A very special lady named Martha Stewart.

In January, I blogged about the arrival of Martha Stewart Clean, a new line of natural cleaning and laundering products released by Martha Stewart in collaboration with Hain Celestial. Since then, I’ve had a chance to try a couple of the products and it’s truly good stuff — all 99+ percent plant- and mineral-based and approved by the EPA’s Design for the Environment program. Would you expect anything less from Ms. Stewart?

Curious to try out Martha Stewart Clean yourself? If you haven’t already, become a fan of MNN on Facebook and you’ll be automatically entered to win the entire line of Martha Stewart Clean products. All you have to do is fan us on Facebook by Monday, March 8th at 12 pm EST and one lucky winner will be chosen at random to be the proud new owner of Martha Stewart Clean Dish Soap, Dishwasher Detergent, Laundry Detergent, Fabric Softener, All Purpose Cleaner, Glass & Mirror Cleaner, Carpet Stain Remover, Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Wood Floor Cleaner, and Bathroom Cleaner. Pheew … that’s a lot of cleaning.

Again, all you have to do is fan on MNN on Facebook by next Monday at 12 PM ET to enter the Martha Stewart Clean giveaway. If you’re already an MNN Facebook fan, no need to do anything. However, I have one tiny request: I’d love it if you took a moment to share your favorite green cleaning tip in the comments section below … extra eco-brownie points if you do.

I'll check back in later in the week with another reminder to enter this just-in-time-for-spring-cleaning giveaway!

We stopped using paper towels last year, it was such an easy transition. Whenever we have company, everyone wants to know where the napkins are and I hand them a handful of cloth napkins. I buy them super cheap at thrift stores along with dish cloths to wipe my counters, mirrors and toilets. All my cleaners are homemade. I use a lot of salt, baking soda, lemon juice, essential oils and vinegar, And for room sprays (which I need because I have 4 cats) I use distilled water and some essential oils
.... More
and reuse spray pumps. I could go on forever, but I don't want to annoy anyone. I love living green and makes me feel good :)

I live in the NE and in the winter, I bring in my potted jasmine shrub and set in in a south facing window. It continues to bloom and just a few blossoms give off a lovely fragrance that freshen the entire room!

Sanitize and freshen your garbage disposal by adding baking soda and a dollop of white vinegar. The volcano effect is great and it also eliminates the odors.

When I lived throughthe long east coast and mid-west winters, houseplants added needed humidity to my home. Now that I live in a milder climate, I bring my geraniums and double impatients in over the winter--they bloom gorgeously, add fragrance, humidity and color--and are an absolute treat to look at!

I love the micro fiber cloths that allow you to wipe mirrors and glass with no chemicals, just water. And my favorite counter spray is a tsp of tea tree oil, a few drops of eucalyptus oil and top up with water - your house smells like a spa and the tea tree is naturally antibacterial.

I use Table salt to remove baked-on food from inside the oven. (Cover the area with salt while the oven is still warm. After it cools, scrape the food away and wipe with a damp sponge.)

And I don't use artificial room sprays....I use houseplants such as chrysanthemums, English ivy, spider plants, and Boston ferns to freshen the air.
