Green giveaway: Target eco-starter kit

Fan MNN on Facebook and you'll be automatically entered to win an organic kit that will help you score green cred before you leave the house in the morning.

Fri, Apr 16 2010 at 8:50 AM EST

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a morning person. In fact, I absolutely hate ‘em. Even if you're in the same AM-hate boat as me, keep in mind that the hours before you leave the house for the day are crucial when it comes to starting out on the right, environmentally aware foot.

Sure, you might carpool to the office, pick up goodies at your local farmers market for lunch, and volunteer twice a week after work with a beach clean-up crew but it’s what you do in the morning at home — particularly in the bathroom as you prime and prep — that can really set you on the right eco-track for the rest of the day.

With that in mind, the folks at Target have assembled a fabulous ‘eco-starter kit’ filled with an array of items that will help leave the house with green cred in full check. And what do you know, I’ll be giving away three, yes three, Target eco-starter kits to those who become a fan of MNN on Facebook by 12 pm EST on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22.

So what’s in each Target eco-starter kit you ask? Let’s take a look:

A Target reusable shopping bag filled with ...

H20 Eco Bottle (Green)
Archer Farms Fruit Strips
Radius Source Toothbrush (3-pk)
Target Home Organic Bath Towel
Target Home Organic Hand Towel
Target Home Organic Wash Towel
Reusable Tote Bag Gift Card ($25)
Conair Eco Ionic 1400-watt Dryer

Burt’s Bees Shampoo and Conditioner Value Pack

Dr. Bronner's Organic Fair Trade  Shikakai Soap - Lavender (24 oz.)
Dr. Bronner's Organic Fair Trade Shaikaki Soap - Peppermint (24 oz.)
Dr. Bronner's Organic Fair Trade Shikakai Soap - Lemongrass Lime (24 oz.)

Again, to be automatically entered into the giveaway just become a fan of MNN on Facebook from now until 12 pm EST on Thursday, April 22. Already a MNN Facebook fan? No need to do anything! You're already good to go!

At the end of this month, three lucky winners will be chosen at random to receive the Target eco-starter kit. And while we're on the topic of receiving, if you stop by your local Target store this Sunday (April 18th), you'll get a free reusable shopping bag with purchase (and don't forget to take along your recyclables!)

And one request to all you morning lovers and haters: I'd be thrilled if you share what your morning green routine entails — in and out of the bathroom — in the comments section below.

*Per FTC guidelines, I am disclosing that Target is providing the product which will be given to the three readers to keep.

I don't see a "become a fan" button on the FB page. There is a "like" button, which I clicked. Now my profile says I "like" MNN not that I'm a fan. Am I missing something? Thanks!!
