Green Monday: 2011 gift guide
Manage to emerge unscathed from — or completely avoid — last week's frenzied display of retail ickiness? Shop responsibly and less aggressively for eco-prezzies with the help of this year's Green Monday gift guide.

I don’t about you but I’m not exactly into getting pepper sprayed, shoved, screamed at, shot at, tasered, or otherwise brutalized when shopping for home-centric holiday gifts (and yes, that includes $2 waffles irons
and bath towels
That said I’m proud to present the 2011 edition of my Green Monday holiday gift guide, a thoughtfully curated (or at least I’d like to think so) and trample-free selection of meaningful and useful eco-prezzies for the home and garden. Like in years past
, you’ll find an assortment of items — some that have made past appearances on my blog and some that are making their debut — that are durable, handmade, ethically manufactured, and/or made from recycled/recyclable/sustainable materials. There’s something for everyone on the list, from space-strapped urban gardeners to energy usage-obsessers to design-savvy cat owners. And since this is Cyber Monday
after all, you’ll find them at a handful of my favorite online retailers that are free of marauding gangs of wild-eyed bargain shoppers.
Without further ado, let’s get green gift shopping shall we? But before you do, take a moment to head on over to the Nature Conservancy
and pledge to gift responsibly (and non-violently) this year.
