Now that the weekend after Thanksgiving has passed and you’ve finished shoveling turkey and sweet potato hash into your maw and binge watching
culturally revealing documentaries “Gilmore Girls” on Neflix, it’s time to talk business — the somewhat tricky business of settling on sure-to-be-loved holiday gifts that will never, be relegated to the dreaded re-gift pile.
Like in years past, I’m here to make holiday shopping for the most discerning/demanding of friends and loved a bit easier. Below, I’ve wrangled up a motley and merry assortment of goodies for the home and garden with an emphasis on independent designers, domestic manufacturing, charitable giving and the use of long-lasting and environmentally sustainable materials. Also: an emphasis on all-around awesomeness.
As you can see, there’s something for just about everyone on your holiday shopping list: space-strapped greenthumbs, cabin porn enthusiasts, urban lumberjacks, wildlife lovers, aspiring globetrotters and on. And because you’re inevitably going to give someone a pair of socks, I’ve included a very special pair of those, too.
All of my gift picks — 20 in total for now with a new suggestion added to the list each week in the days leading up to Christmas — are priced under $200.
