Red sheets for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and you know what that means (and no, I don't mean setting up a profile at MulletPassions or preparing a feast of oysters, chocolate, and "testicle sauce") ...

Like in years past, I'm here to hawk a few sexy, sustainable bedding choices — mainly sheet sets along with individual sheets and pillowcases made from organic cotton and plant-based fabrics like Modal and Tencel — that will enable you to transform your boudoir into a "green light district" on the one day a year reserved for affection and old fashioned amore. Added bonus: these eco-friendly options will prevent you from dwelling on groundwater pollution and genetic modification while rolling around in the sheets with that special someone.

I do hate to be a tease but before getting to the good stuff, take a quick moment to head on over to the Pesticide Action Network to review a few mood-killing facts about the environmental and health perils of conventional cotton production. And an FYI: Did you know what it takes 1.25 pounds of petroleum-based agricultural chemicals to produce a single queen-sized sheet set made from conventional cotton? Yikes. Now lets get our green sheeting on, shall we?
