After tackling backyard farming
, air conditioning
, and a bounty of other topics
, the infographic wizards over at group solar purchasing company One Block Off the Grid
are back with a new informative masterwork
titled Reduce, Reuse, Remodel: Eco-Friendly Upgrades That Pay You Back. As described, the infographic details various energy- and water-saving home improvements that have the highest rate of return, outperforming CDs, saving accounts, and even the stock market. While some of the upgrades are more ambitious in scale — rooftop photovoltaic systems, geothermal systems, etc. — others like installing a high-performance showerhead or a programmable thermostat fall into more of the "quick but effective fix" category.
Have you performed any of the below upgrades in your home? What kind of savings have you seen so far? Are there any that you plan on tackling in the near future?
