Although it sure doesn’t feel like it, at least here in Brooklyn, fall has, err, officially fallen. Autumn is hands-down my favorite time of year for several reasons: crisp and cool weather, breathtaking foliage, scary movies on TV, the retiring of flip-flops, and the resurrection of scarves. Most of all, I enjoy keeping cozy and comfortable while putzing around my apartment without needing to blast any heating and cooling systems (lower utility bills!).

With that in mind, below you’ll find 12 eco-friendly homegoods — ranging from plush pillows and throws to the obligatory pumpkin scented soy candle — that will help you keep sustainably snug and add a bit of autumnal decorative flair to your abode this fall. But before you get too comfortable, don’t forget to consider these fall cleaning and home maintenance ideas.
