We fielded quite a few questions via e-mail and Twitter about a recent post that highlighted the antimicrobial properties of tea tree oil. By popular request, here’s a recipe for a homemade disinfectant spray we found at The Frugal Life News: 20 drops each of tea tree and fine lavender essential oils; 10 drops of lemon essential oil; and a quart of tap water. Add to a sprayer and keep on hand for septic cleanups. But don’t forget: plenty of plain soap and hot water is your frontline when it comes to natural home cleaning.
