Feeling blu?

The last time I wrote about Blu Homes, the young and relatively unknown green prefab building firm had acquired the assets of Michelle Kaufmann's mkDesigns — big news within the small but vibrant community of green prefab home builders and designers. Now, in the Boston Globe, Blu is given the chance to flex its green building muscle with a visit to the company's assembly plant in Littleton, Mass.

Globe writer Scott Kirsner's profile on Blu is a solid, in-depth story with commentary on the current state of green prefab building in a shaky economy. Blu's innovative, efficient "folding" prefab building methods that dramatically help cut back on shipping costs are also discussed. And when talking about green prefab construction, video certainly doesn't hurt. Take a look.
