America chooses its favorite farmers markets
Find out if your favorite farmers market won in American Farmland Trust's annual contest.

Photo courtesy of American Farmland Trust The votes have been counted, and Americans have voted for their favorite farmers markets in American Farmland Trust’s Favorite Farmers Market contest. None of last year’s winners kept their title (including my favorite market, Collingswood Farmers Market, which won the small category last year).
Here's the list of winners:
- Boutique (15 or fewer vendors): King George Farmers Market, King George, Va.
- Small (16-30 vendors): Champaign County Farmers Market, Urbana, Ohio
- Medium (31-55 vendors): Falls Church Farmers Market, Falls Church, Va.
- Large (56 or more vendors): City of Rochester Public Market, Rochester, N.Y.
The contest grew this year, adding the boutique category and bringing in many more votes than it did last year. The winning markets got many more votes than last year's winners. For example, Collingswood won the small category last year with just over 1,000 votes; Champaign County won this year’s contest with more than 3,200 votes.
