Could raising backyard chickens become the next "hot" celebrity trend?

Not likely — but for Jennifer Aniston at least, her new $21 million Bel Air property in Los Angeles has unexpectedly turned her into a chicken farmer. The 43-year-old purchased the 8,500-square-foot mansion and was surprised to discover that it came with a coop and a few fowls.

"They're very social animals, and they like it when you visit them with a cup of coffee in your hand," Aniston told the U.K. Globe. "And according to my groundskeeper, they love pasta."

So OK, yes, she has a groundskeeper to worry about such things, but to her credit, she admits that she's reading up on how best care for the birds — including what they like/dislike, etc. Los Angeles regulations allow for up to four chickens per property.

Aniston isn't the first celebrity to enjoy a small poultry farm. Reese Witherspoon, Hilary Swank, Prince Charles, Martha Stewart and Chevy Chase are but a few of the other stars who enjoy some fresh eggs for breakfast.

This woman has too much money. She supposedly sold her 10,000 sf mansion because it was too huge for her and she needed to "simplify" her life. So what does she do, she goes and wastes $21 mil on a house just slightly smaller than the first. Kudos on the chickens, but please, already - the excess of these marginally-talented celebrities makes me ill.
