Organic dairy farmers air their problems

Organic Dairy farmers rallied to explain their problems and caught the ear of USDA Secretary Vilsack.

Last week, organic dairy farmers rallied in Wisconsin to bring attention to the fact that they cannot compete with big agribusiness organics in this economy. The small organic dairy farmer is in danger of becoming an endangered species as handfuls are going under each month during this recession.

USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack who was in Wisconsin at the time showed up for part of the rally and listened to what some of the farmers had to say.

In this audio slideshow from Organic Nation TV, you can hear some of what the farmers had to say, and see the faces of the dairy farmers and their families who are being hard hit. It’s very powerful. Whether any changes will happen because of the rally, that remains to be seen.

Dorethee,

Done. I did meant to link, but it got overlooked. I appreciate the heads up. It's a great slide show and I'm glad that Organic Nation TV opened it up to be embedded on other sites.
