Organic Heroes

Get a free subscription to Organic Gardening magazine and help organic farmers at the same time.

Mon, Jul 06 2009 at 8:08 PM EST

Nature’s Path, Organic Valley and Organic Gardening magazine are teaming up, and they have created the Organic Heroes campaign.

What’s the campaign all about?

The campaign will support The Rodale Institute’s Farmers Can Be Heroes farmer education program. The Rodale Institute is a leader in on-farm organic research and education. Their Farmers Can Be Heroes program portrays organic farmers as heroes who feed us and are on the frontline of mitigating climate change and preserving the earth for future generations.

Here’s how it works.

You can be an “organic hero” by purchasing one Organic Valley product (my kids are partial to their chocolate milk) and one Nature’s Path product (I love their Flax Plus Pumpkin Raisin Crunch cereal), and mailing in the proofs of purchase from both products. Send both bar codes as proof of purchase along with your name and address on a 3 x 5 card to:

Organic Gardening
P.O. Box 1712
Bellmawr, NJ 08099

You’ll receive a free one-year subscription to Organic Gardening (six issues). Nature’s Path and Organic Valley will contribute up to $50,000 to the “Farmers Can Be Heroes” program -- $1 for each pair of proofs of purchase received. And you’ll be entered into a contest to win a full year’s worth of organic breakfasts.

The Organic Heroes website even has a $2 coupon you can print out to use towards any combination of one Organic Valley product and one Nature’s Path product.
