Joel Salatin is an inspiration to thousands with his respect for both animals and their needs, and his interest in using modern technology to improve farms. With his books, such as his newest, "Folks, This Ain't Normal: A Farmer's Advice for Happier Hens, Healthier People, and a Better World," he spreads his common sense, down-to earth, ecologically sound advice. I especially appreciate that his words come from someone who is actually farming and putting into practice what he preaches.

The above video is especially nice as it covers a lot of ground with Salatin. It is a great introduction to him, his farm and his thoughts.
