Vegetable weightlifting
Local weightlifter Jonathan Walker lifts a giant green marrow weighing 119 lbs., 12 oz. over his head on Sept. 14 at the Great Yorkshire Showground. The vegetable, grown by Peter Glazebrook of Newark, won first place in the Giant Marrow Class of the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show in England.
Gardeners from across Britain descend on the Great Yorkshire Showground every September to show off their prized vegetable and flower crops in hopes of earning a coveted award from the judges.

Onion admiration
Giant vegetable grower Peter Glazebrook from Newark poses with his world record breaking onion that weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs., 1 oz., beating his previous world record by almost 2 ounces.
Glazebrook won all six classes in the giant vegetable competition at the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show.
