CB2 heads outdoors

I'm loving the selection of eco-friendly outdoor furnishings from Crate & Barrel 's spunky lil' sis. Will UB2?

Mon, Apr 27 2009 at 7:13 PM EST

As North America nears the end of its thawing out period, you’ve probably noticed that home furnishing purchasing trends have started to shift from chaise lounges and entertainment centers to hammocks and sturdy, weatherproof chairs. I don't own any outdoor furniture myself but I'm already eyeing new tapestries to take on excursions up to my rooftop (which I just discovered gets a wireless signal!) and to the local park/baby and dog hangout.

Last month, I featured the outdoor furniture of Loll Designs, a company whose stylish, recycled HDPE designs are helping halt the misconception that all plastic lawn and garden furniture is flimsy and disposable. This month, props go out to CB2 — Crate & Barrel’s funkier, design-focused sister company — whose range of outdoor furniture and accessories is similarly eco-friendly.

Below are some highlights of CB2's latest offerings. And if your outdoor space is limited, check out these suggestions on how to bring the outdoors in via interior decor.

Weekender Dining Table and Bench ($349 and $199) – Made with plantation-grown, FSC-certified eucalyptus wood.

Grasshopper Chair ($89.95) – Plastic “rattan” back and seat are recyclable.

Recycled Bugs ($7.95/each) – Handcrafted in Africa from recycled tin.

Recycled Lantern ($19.95) – Made with recycled iron sheet.

Conserve Table Runner ($14.95) – Made with recycled milk pouches.

I LOVE their selection of recycled material products. I dreamed and then I recycled the catalog. :) haha.
