Fresh and green from CB2

In need on some reasonably priced eco retail therapy? Check out these summertime offerings from CB2.

Wed, Jul 15 2009 at 2:11 PM EST

I realize I’ve been on a kick this week featuring eye-catching, eco-friendly home goods — a $125 recycled content papier mache praying mantis or an ornate, recycled frame sofa, for example — that may not be everyone’s cup of tea (or at everyone’s ideal price point).

To balance things out, here are a few new-ish items from one of my favorite home design/furnishing companies, CB2, that (for the most part) are gently priced and practical but still quite fetching. I’ve been following CB2 since their early days as Crate & Barrel’s playful and mod lil’ sis and they keep getting bigger and more green (check out my posts on CB2’s eco-friendly couches and outdoor furnishings) as time goes on. The below items are A+ editions to CB2’s eco-roster.

Mosaic Recycled Desk Accessories (Pencil Cup: $7.95; Storage Box w/ Lid: $29.95)
The super cool Mosaic line of desk accessories are made from 100 percent recycled juice boxes. Each one is unique.

EcoGen Bath Accessories (Toothbrush/Razor Cup: $5.95; Container w/ Lid: $7.95; Soap Pump: $9.95)
The three-piece line of EcoGen bath accessories is made from PHBV, a biodegradable polymer derivative that’s made from renewable resources.  When disposed of in a compost pile or soil, the products with decompose safety in six to nine months.

Print Block Panel ($249)
This beautiful decorative panel is crafted from reclaimed/recycled textile design woodcuts taken from remote Indian villages. Each piece is unique and comes in recycled wood frame.

Stixx Bed Linens ($19.95 – $99.95)

Woodsy and chic, each component of the Stixx Bed linen collection is made from 100 percent GOTS-certified organic cotton percale and earth-safe dyes and inks. Mix and match with sheet sets, duvet covers, pillow shams, and pillowcases.
