![]() Earlier today, I dedicated a post to Ottawa, Ontario's new municipal composting program. Now, I'm going to once again tip my hat to our friends in the Great "Green" North with news that Toronto-based Gus* Design Group is manufacturing all of its beautiful, modern upholstered furniture with FSC-certified wood sourced from responsibly managed forests. Gus* furnishings — sofas, chairs, ottomans, tables, accessories, accents, and more — can be found at over 150 retailers across North America; the announcement coincides with the showing of 34 new, in-stock Gus* designs at North Carolina's High Point Furniture Market.
Like non-FSC-certified wood Gus* furnishings, these are gorgeous, high-end-but-not-stuffy designs. Pictured above is the comfy-looking Richmond Sofa ($2,195); below are the mod GT Rocker ($1,095) that's inspired by '70s car interiors and the mid-century inspired Truss Chair ($895).
