Sometimes it’s product photography that ultimately sells me. In the case of FilzFelt, it’s product photography and the product itself  (and a dog) that won me over so not much arm-twisting here …

 

Out of Kelly Smith and Traci Roloff's year-old, Boston-based felt design firm, FilzFelt, comes stunning but unfussy 100 percent wool felt tabletop accessories — coasters, trivets, runners, placemats and the like. Everything is die-cut and available in a variety of beautiful colors.

 

Here’s the deal with popular-again felt: it comes from shorn sheep (in this case, shorn German sheep). But it’s also considered to be a durable and ecological material that’s recyclable. So while it’s not for folks with sheep sensitivities, wool felt ranks highly on the renewable natural fibers scale.
