Liberty's crown reopens
The interior of the iconic Statue of Liberty, which was given to the U.S. as a gift by France in the 19th century, will reopen to the public on Oct. 28 — the 126th anniversary of its dedication — after being closed for a year for renovations. The renovations include new staircases and an elevator that will allow people with disabilities to witness the view from the crown.
